It's almost end of the durian season, which means durians are the best at this moment.
My brother decided to bring my family to a durian buffet at Raub Durian Orchard .
After 4 hours of heavy traffic, because today is the first day of Hari Raya ( Malays New Year ), which we only need an hour to reach if there wasn't any traffic problems. We'd finally reached our destination.

Village looked roads for 1 kilometer until we reached the final destination.
And...We're high up above the jungles.
After stretching, we started our durian buffet.
Do you know how to differentiate these durians? There you go, you know now. =D
They've built a sort of "balcony" look dining place which looks like this.
I was wondering from the first ever time I saw those words. Is it HEAVEN or HAVEN? =X
Conclusion : D160 and Musang King durians are the best. =D
D160 |
Musang King
These are two of the durians I've had.
After finished eating, my sister and I planned to have a tour in his durian orchard.
This is the view beside the balcony a.k.a. dining place.
A walkway down to the orchard but we decided not to walk the "proper" way down to the orchard. We took another path beside this passage. Wrong Turn 8 is going to happen. =D
There is a villa, called Villa Musang King, beside the walkway.
I'm not sure if this is a villa, because I feel like the woods do not give enough support.
The toilets are over there. Latest trend - open-aired toilet. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this.
What is the use of the bench beside those toilet bowls?
To watch the people beside while they're having their own business?
After quite some walking distance, we found here deep in the durian orchard full of riped durians.
We were afraid they'll fall on our head. =X
We were recording the moment of it dropping and hoping we could get it and have this FRESH dropped durian. But when it dropped, it fell off to the drain and we left nothing. =(
It resisted to die in our mouth.
Finally we picked up one freshly dropped durian, but the workers there said it wasn't ripe to have it.
So it has gone into the rubbish bin.
We ended up looked for a CUTE looking durian from the bucket they offered and ate it.
It wasn't that good compared to the one we had earlier.
We saw this honey selling beside the durian stall, they said " No Bee No Durians".
After I've lived for so long and ate durians for all these years, this is the first ever knowledge I learnt from this orchard. I don't know whether it's true because I never google it up. =X
It's an awesome experience visiting the durian orchard but I'll only go for once because it's too far from my house and I can get better ones around my area. Time consuming is a big problem.
A friendly reminder : Give them a call before visiting them because they need to make reservation for you.
